However, the three of them are unaware that the deadly virus is not the only thing that is a danger to them.
Genre:Post-apocalyptic horror.

Similarities
The genre of our film is also Post-apocalyptic horror like 28 Days Later, there are a number or similar elements within our film and this film. The story line in both films are very similar within the beginning, with the way that both main characters wake up from a coma. Also, they both wonder if they are alone in the city, however, they soon find out they are at great risk due to an apocalyptic break that broke out while they were in their coma. Jim and our character, Rudy are both petrified when they come to face the infected victims of the break out and both of the immediate instincts are to run away from something that does not seem possibly real.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289043/ - We chose 28 Days Later to have similarities with our film as it has a rating of 7.6/10 on IMDB. It is also reviewed as a 'smart, ingenious move that leads its characters into situations where everything depends on their understanding of human nature' which we believe is a key aspect in a post-apocalyptic film as the survivors must use their initial common sense in order to survive and use their understanding of human nature to also survive whilst out in the close danger of the infected.

                         The Walking Dead (TV series)
Plot
Rick Grimes, a former Sheriff's deputy, wakes up from a several month coma after being shot on duty. When he wakes, he discovers a world taken over by zombies and assumes he is the only person alive in this frightening world.

He heads off to find them and is struck with a near death experience caused by an extreme amount of zombies. Luckily, another survivor saves him and takes him to his camp. Within the camp, Rick finds his wife, son, best friend and a group of survivors. Rick and his fellow survivors are prepared to do whatever it takes to survive, they also find many other survivors on the way to find sanctuary. As well as large amounts of flesh eating zombies, the group are faced with other survivor groups who are just as dangerous as the zombies themselves.
Genre:Post-apocalyptic thriller/horror/drama.

Similarities
Our film will be similar to the first episode of The Walking Dead Series within cinematography and editing. The Walking Dead use a blurred effect to connote that Rick has been in a coma for a long time and is only just waking up, we will use a strobe effect to disorientate the hospital room in which our character wakes up in to imply he has also been in a coma for a long time. Both of our film and The Walking Dead uses point of view shots of the hospital room with the blurred and strobe effect to show the audience it through the eyes of the main character. Also, for mise en scene, we will also use props to signify a long passage of time, such as dead flowers or a stopped clock to show how long the character's room has been unattended. The Walking Dead also does similar aspects to this. Due to just waking up from a coma, both of our characters have a lack of energy and are very fatigued and sweaty.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1520211/ - The Walking Dead has a high rating of 8.7/10 as it has high reviews. We chose to have similarities with The Walking Dead as we believed it would make our film interesting and engage the audience.

Similarities
The main characters within our film and World War Z have similar personalities as they are both risk takers and are willing to do anything to survive. As our character is brave when faced with large amounts of zombies and facing the world alone and believing he is the only living person left, the main character in World War Z injects himself with a harmful virus when he is unaware of the consequences it could have on him, this shows his bravery in the zombie outbreak.
